CD Smith Gains 5x Increase in Productivity Using Robotic Total Stations
Blog Post
C.D. Smith Construction, Inc., a family-owned general contractor focused on commercial construction services, has historically used a variety of two-person mechanical total stations for layout.
Given the need to work quickly and precisely, Jamie Spartz, Director of Virtual Design & Construction, wanted to see how robotic total stations could be used to improve C.D. Smith’s workflows. Spartz decided to do an analysis using a two-person total station versus and a Trimble Robotic Total Station (RTS) and Trimble FieldLink.
The results? C.D. Smith is now able to free up valuable skilled labourers for other tasks and still get their layout completed quickly and accurately, resulting in huge time and cost savings. Want to get started? Contact an expert at buildingpoint.ca for more information.
